Hernan Brusa is a regular returning guest teacher due to his warm and friendly manner and his detailed and deep knowledge of tango. He is playful and has great musicality in his dancing and is a very experienced teaching keen to share is skills and tango knowledge. He is always requested by our students. Class on milonga
Hernan’s playful approach to milonga is addictive and his use of different rhythms and syncopation is admirable. Hence we have requested Hernan to teach a class on milonga and traspie. Traspie according to Michael Lavocah author of several books on Tango music and orchestras. Quoted from ‘Tango Stories: Musical Secrets’: “Traspie literally means trapped, across the foot, i.e. to stumble. It refers to a particular way of using syncopated double time in milonga with a change of direction.”

Getting here
Take the Dockland’s Light Rail (DLR) to Crossharbour station. At the foot of the station stairs, cross Eastferry Road at the pedestrian crossing, then keep going straight ahead as you are on Glengall Grove. The hall is 150 metres down on the right.
Buses 277, 135, D6 and D8 will take you to the ASDA store at Crosshabour. Walk along the path on the right of the Health Centre car park, this takes you directly to Glengall Grove and St John’s Community Hall.
