Our Special Guest Teachers at ‘Tango E14’ this Saturday 1st October are the very popular Argentinean and Uruguayan dancers Natasha Lewinger and Haris Mihail.
Natasha and Haris are internationally recognised teachers and dancers known for their connection, elegance, musicality, dynamics, and quality. They both love social dancing, especially the milonguero style.
In their own words: “The most important thing in tango for us is the connection. We are crazy about technique but only as a medium to improve the connection and feelings that will allow us to adapt to everybody and every style. We believe in dancing as one body with four legs, the centaur. Communication between us is the key for our tango. Listening to the leader is as important as listening to the follower.” They started dancing 17 and 16 years ago, and they met in the beginning of 2016. Natasha has been working in the UK since 2012 and with Haris since 2017.
As an added bonus we have the pleasure of the main hall at the Calder’s Wharf Community Centre for this Saturday only, 1st October: Calder’s Wharf Community Centre, 4A Saunders Ness Road, E14 3PS.
Free, coffee and nibbles – It is not obligatory, but many of our dancers put something simple and edible on the table for everyone to share.
Class on Rebounds
We wait with eager anticipation for Natasha and Haris’s class on “Rebounds with variations.” will bring to us. We just know from past experience that they have a superb sense of joy, fun, technique, and the ability to introduce new material that both stretches us, and takes us more along the journey into Argentine Tango. So, come and join the fun.
This class will be aimed at dancers with some experience. Come on time to get the most out of it.
Private tuition available
There are slots of an hour before or after this Saturday event for private tuition suitable for couples. If you are interested in booking a private class please ring Tony Lane on 02075383852.

Getting here
There is free street parking in the area at weekends.
The best transport option is the DLR.
If coming via Dockland’s Light Rail, come to
‘Island Gardens’ station.
Walk up the stairs, cross the main road using the pedestrian traffic lights. Then walk straight ahead up the ‘Douglas Path’, which takes you to Saunders Ness Road, and towards the Greenwich foot tunnel. The centre is just to the right of the entrance to ‘Island Gardens’ park.
Buses D7 and 135 stop at Island Gardens DLR. The 277 comes almost there, so get off just before the bus turns left up East Ferry Road.
You could walk through the Greenwich Foot tunnel if coming from that area.
For a special treat, why not come via the ‘Uber / Thames Clippers’ river boat services. There is a stop at Greenwich, then just a walk through the tunnel. Or a stop at ‘Masthouse Terrace Pier’ on the Isle of Dogs, less than 10 minutes walk down the riverside walkway to Island Gardens.
