Saturday 10th January is the first Saturday back in the year of 2026! The restart will be with a reflective theme taking stock of where you are as a dancer and in your body as well as your tango technique. The checklists from last year will be making a comeback!
Your usual afternoon with class first from 1- 2.30pm followed by milonga with tango tunes by our delightful resident DJ And Warner! Tony is on holiday in New Zealand till the end of April! So Stuart and Anita are teaching the classes however Saturdays class will be taught by Anita only.
Class on mindful walking and a grounded connection
As this is just after the start of the New Year where a lot of people reflect in general on their lives we will do the same with regard to tango. After a quick checklist we’ll make our tango resolutions or Wishlist of what we would like to achieve in the new year. On repeated request of some of our regular dancers this will be followed by exercises on mindful or meditative walking. And T’ai Chi exercises that will ground you more and partnering exercises that will develop understanding of leading and following as well as improvisation. We are also going to develop awareness of the ronda or a group of dancers by doing exercises on how to move as a bigger group in a thoughtful, connected way inspired by Viewpoints Techniques. As mentioned exercises will be inspired by T’ai Chi and Chan Park, Zen Buddhism and improvisation technique Viewpoints (by Anne Bogart and Tina Landau).
Private tuition available
Private or 1 to 1 classes are available for individuals, couples, friends and small groups before the group class starts between 11.30- 12 till 12.30 -1pm. Or after the milonga at 5-6pm. Please email dance@tangoe14.co.uk if you are interested depending on hall availability and teacher availability.
