This week 11th November we look more in-depth at the essential understanding of Giros (turns) their technique and variations on Giros. Please come early to get the full benefit of this class.
1 – 2.30 pm Class with Tony and Anita. Class on essential understanding of ‘Giros’, techniques and variations.
This week we will look closely at ‘Giros’ (Turns)- technique, details, variations and possibilities. We will examine simple giros, how to do them precisely, and how to control them. Then we will start to look at some of the interesting variations of them, so we can use them to create our own specific and dynamic interpretation of the music. This class is aimed at helping all levels. Those new to ‘Giros’ will see the ‘shapes’ and basic structures that arise. Those more experienced can understand how we can play with these structures within ‘tango’ music to create a more dynamic and ‘tango’ flavoured dance experience for both our partners and ourselves.
If you are coming to Tango E14 for the first time please come 25minutes earlier at 12.35pm so we can give you a little introduction to how we go about dancing Argentine tango. Today’s main class will be a bit difficult for beginners, but it is still worth watching and paying attention. You have to start somewhere, so start now.
2.30 – 5pm Milonga/ Practica/ Social Dance with DJ Andy Warner.
We have a warm and friendly milonga that is highly suitable for beginners. We have a range of people attending from regulars that have danced for decades to absolute beginners and all are dancing! Please come and try and see for yourself! Entry: Class and Practica £7. Milonga only, after 2.30pm £5.
Private tuition available
There are slots of an hour before or after this Saturday event for private tuition suitable for couples. If you are interested in booking a private class please ring Tony Lane on 02075383852.
