Tony and Anita are back after the Summer break during August in St John’s Community Centre near Crossharbour DLR (which is running as usual). Tango E14 is restarting this week, with an afternoon as usual; a class followed by a milonga.
We are excited to be teaching back again at our usual venue after a successful FREE event last week (6th Sep) in the Performance Space of the Rooftop Gardens in Crossrail station (above Elizabeth Line Canary Wharf station). We have been doing this event for the last 10 years in collaboration with the Space. So big thank you to The Space!

Class on tango basics and variations on the salida.
As Tony is slowly stepping back Anita as a typical dance teacher is proposing proper levels!! This means that Anita will teach tango building blocks for the first 45 min from 1-1.45min and more complex tango principles and or combinations after from 1.45-2.30pm. So
- 1.00-1.45pm Tango Basics
- 1.45-2.30pm Tango principles/ Combinations
This is so the complete beginners get the technical grounding they need, and don’t get overwhelmed as the can opt out after 45min and the more experienced dancers can either to do both classes and repeat the technical foundation if they choose to do so and learn new material after. Or just come at 1.45pm for the more complex tango principles and or combinations.
This Saturday we will do the following topics:
- Tango Basics: the embrace, the walking to the beat and the connection to your partner and to the music.
- Tango sequences: Salida variations with double cross and turn or pivot after the cross. Salida on the other side and Variations on the rhythm.
Private tuition available
There are slots of an hour before or after this Saturday event for private tuition suitable for couples. If you are interested in booking a private class please ring Tony Lane on 02075383852.
