This week Saturday 17th June 2023 at ‘Tango E14’ is a normal afternoon with Tony and Anita teaching a class on refining our giro technique.
1 – 2.30pm Class on refining essential tango technique for giros
Todays class is all about refining our essential techniques for giros. The beginning of the class will start with technical exercises that are suitable for beginners. For example, exercises on finding your balance, axis, disassociation, ochos and pivoting on the spot. Towards the end of the class we will work on giro’s and how to execute them with refined technique and adding challenges for those that are keen.
Learning and developing ones Tango skills is a long process. You have to do it, and do it regularly. It is also helpful if one has an open and co-operative mindset, rather than an exclusive or elitist one. A huge range of people over a long period of time, from all sorts of backgrounds have discovered, danced and developed Argentine tango. It continues to grow and develop today. So make a little effort to give yourself to ‘Tango’ and let ‘Tango’ into your soul. We are all on a Tango road of discovery.
2.30- 5pm Milonga with DJ Andy Warner
Today’s class will suitable for all levels.
Please come on time to take full advantage of the afternoon. Doors open at 12.45pm
Party alert
Next Saturday, 24th June, we have a special party afternoon, with guest teachers ‘Los Ocampo’. They will teach a fun class, and of course we will do some ‘Chacarera’ as well as our usual social milonga. This is also an opportunity to celebrate Tango E14 being awarded recognition by the AMBCTA (Associacion de Maestros, Bailarines y Coreografos de Tango Argentino – Association of Teachers, Dancers and Choreographers of Argentine tango). We are honoured to be given this special award by Monica Romero, who is Vice-President of the AMBCTA. We invite you all to come and celebrate together.
