Saturday 18th April is a special occasion celebrating our longer term collaboration with Queer Tango London with 2 classes and 2 TDJ’s!
Exciting and fun afternoon ahead. Don’t miss this special event with longtime collaborators and teachers from QTL! If you would like to be sure to be part of this put it in your diary and you can either book NOW in advance HERE or pay on the door.
Class 1 on Intercambio for Everyone!
This is a fun class that is well known by the regulars of Queer Tango London that is very successful. Intercambio means role reversal and practices changes from leader to follower and from follower to leader smoothly whilst you are dancing! As we mentioned before it improves your dancing if you (occasionally) change roles and attempt to dance the other ‘side’. It will not only improve your technique and understanding of the dance as a style. It also widens and deepens your insight in what your partner is facing in challenges and your empathy and sympathy. The dance works best if both partners are respecting each other! Taught by Ray Batchelor and Gawaine Preston.
Class 2 on Improvisation skills for tango
This class aims to improve your confidence and playfulness in improvisation in tango. For improvisation you need to feel free to have a go! So, we are going to practice to give yourself permission to be playful and that making mistakes does not matter as in tango they are opportunities to go off the beaten path and explore other possibilities to create new steps and combinations. Improvisation makes tango enjoyable and able to express yourself and your partner in your unique way. Led by Anita van de Watering how used to dance in an improvisation as performance company (impro vi) and is inspired by Katie Duck.
