This week’s class is on rebounds or rebotes in Spanish and a free walking turn. Free as not in hold and turning for the follower. We will explore other playful movements and when they might be appropriate.
For who weren’t there last week Tango E14 has received an award please check here for more details and pictures. We had a great afternoon with Los Ocampo as Guest Teachers and Monica Romero awarded Tony and Anita with a recommended membership of AMBCTA.
Class on rebounds/ rebotes and playfulness
Last week ‘Los Ocampo’ worked on ‘Rebotes/Rebounds’ and introduced the idea of letting go to produce a free ‘walking’ turn. Tomorrow we will revise that, and then bring in some other related ideas.
We will look at the difference of playfulness in between ‘Salon’ style tango as exemplified by slow and controlled walking for example to the music of Carlos Di Sarli, and ‘Milonguero’ style such as from Juan D’Arienzo.
We also need to be able to navigate and move enjoyably, comfortably, and safely among all the other couples. So we are constantly changing where we going, changing direction, speed, rhythm, size and intensity of our movement and so on. Therefore we need a variety of options/moves/tricks/etcetera, and we need the connection with our partner to do that instantly.
Private tuition available
There are slots of an hour before or after this Saturday event for private tuition suitable for couples. If you are interested in booking a private class please ring Tony Lane on 02075383852.
