Saturday 20 September Tony and Anita will be teaching all the basics of ocho’s! If you want to learn what it is or improve your ochos please come and join!
Saturday we will have class and milonga as usual with Andy Warner as DJ and fingers crossed Stuart will bring back some of the lighting we have come to love so much!
Class on ochos
In Spanish ocho means the number eight in tango dance it means a specific kind of pivot or turn. Often the follower does it by themselves however you can both ocho or turn at the same time. We will do forwards and backwards ochos. And see how you can link them with other steps or how you start with an ocho straight away as a leader. A good ocho is important because if you can dance a good technically sound ocho lots of other steps that have ochos in them will be easier, or even possible for you to dance such as media luna, giros, ocho cortado, and many others. An ocho if you like is a basic building block for other tango principles and combinations that are commonly danced in social dancing.
Private tuition available
There are slots of an hour before or after this Saturday event for private tuition suitable for couples. If you are interested in booking a private class please ring Tony Lane on 02075383852.
