This Saturday 26th of August Anita will be teaching a fun and handy step as you can use it for milonga as well as for tango rhythms!
After the group class there will the usual tunes by DJ Anita with mainly tranditional music and 2 tandas of Nuevo as requested by the dancers. Also the usual lighting and decorations! Join us this Saturday for a relaxed, warm and welcoming tango embrace by our lovely tango community and be enveloped in the tango vibe!
Class on the mirror step
The mirror step and Americano can be very similar. However let’s explore the difference on Saturday and then you can experience for yourself the difference! Basically, in the mirror step the leader and the follower mirror each others pivots, usually the pivot is smaller than an average ocho so in terms of amount of turn it is easier to dance.
Let’s play and explore the many variations on directions and rhythms that are possible and perhaps as well as a surprise change of direction can be thrown in! So we will start as usual with technique of walking, posture, recap Americana and pivots/ ochos and take it from there. Last week lots of variations came up found by the dancers and we enjoyed exploring, playing and finding many variations. So, we are aiming to continue to improvise and become more confident in our creativity!
