Saturday 5 April Tango E14 is proud to present special guest teachers María Celeste Cimino and Luciano Millaqueo from Buenos Aires with a special class on milonga traspié.
María Celeste Cimino and Luciano Millaqueo have been once before at Tango E14 in April 2024 teaching a great class on salidas con Corte. This time they are back on many requests from dancers with a special class on milonga traspié. We can not wait to see them and enjoy their world renown dancing. Celeste and Luciano are known for Golden Era 1940s milonguera style. Please find a video below with their milonga dancing to Por La Huella by Biagi.

Class on milonga traspié
Milonga can be scary for beginner dancers at the best of times however Luciano and Celeste will enlighten you in the world of milonga and make it accessible. Their calm, clean and precise vast knowledge and skill in milonguero style will help you to get this! Milonga is a playful dance to playful syncopated music in essence that is what traspie is; a transfer of weight from one foot another with syncopated rhythm (literally in the BA dialect it means ‘wrong step or stumble’). This is in their words what they are going to teach you:
The milonga is said to be the most playful and rhythmic dance, among the many variations we could learn by dancing milonga, the style traspié is quintessential for those who want to dance this rhythm properly. This workshop is aimed at those who love the milonga. We are going to work on the structures admirably taught by Pepito Avellaneda adding on top of it traspié exercises.
Private tuition available
There are slots of an hour before or after this Saturday event for private tuition suitable for couples. If you are interested in booking a private class please ring Tony Lane on 02075383852.
