For the first time ever this Saturday 5th July 2025 Anita is teaching with Stuart at Tango E14 all about ochos. Come and learn all the basics well either leading or following and why not have a go at doing both?!
After the concert dancers were interested in learning how to dance in a small space and improving their floor craft. So last week we worked on movements that are suitable for a small space. We did amagues, cunita, ochos backward without sidestep, crosses left and right lead in the line of dance.
Class on ochos
The class will start with essential technique workout on axis, balance, pivots and freeing up the free leg without loosing control of the abdomen and keeping the hips level and engaged. After dancing backward ochos doing both roles last week, this week we are offering to lead and follow forward ochos. It is important to only step or pivot when led. As a leader to be aware of your axis as well your follower’s axis and to lead all the stages of the ocho. We will go over a sequence that will cover all we did last time (2 weeks ago) including amagues, cunita, backward ochos, crosses left and right. At the end of the lesson you will be encouraged to apply what you have learned and to play with the size, speed and order of the movements.
Private tuition available
There are slots of an hour before or after this Saturday event for private tuition suitable for couples. If you are interested in booking a private class please ring Tony Lane on 02075383852.
