About Rafael Baere
Rafael started his life in dance at the age of 8 with break dance. Later, when he was around 15, he started learning classical ballet and contemporary dance. At the age of 17, he encountered ballroom dance and other embrace dances, like tango.
After falling in love with tango, he started leaving all the other dances behind and dedicated himself to a select few dance forms, one of them being tango. Since 2002 he took many seminars and private classes with the following masters: Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne, Chicho and his partners Eugenia Parrilla and Juana Sepulveda, Fabian Salas and his partners, Julio Balmaceda with Corina de la Rosa, Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Pablo Verón, and Moira Castellano.
At the age of 22 he started giving classes and since then he has travelled the world, taking advantage of mastering several languages, giving group classes, private classes and seminars, with a partner or alone in Europe, Russia, Brasil, Argentina, Asia and Oceania, the United States and Canada. His classes mainly focus on posture, balance, fluid energy, embrace and musicality. He considers that the best way to learn how to dance is by studying, not just copying sequences.
Since 2012 he tours Asia and Oceania, United States and Canada, Europe and Middle East offering workshops, private classes and doing DJ for milongas, marathons and Festivals.
Corinne Krikorian and Rafael Baere perfom an improvisation on “Tus labios me diran” (Biagi with Alberto Amor) at “Chez COCO’s Cabaret” on November 28, 2019.
