This Saturday 10th February 2024 Tony and Anita will work on Tango Vals, and how to play with it. We will start with some simple exercises to see how Tango Vals, which has evolved from Vals Peruano and Vals Criollo, can include not just one simple over-riding rhythm, but actually contains several rhythms at once. Some might have heard of Candombe however this is not ‘Candombe’, but the idea of the instruments and the dancers being able to do a variety of different things within the framework of the music is the same.
So regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced tango dancer, come and join in and see some of the many possibilities that you and your partner can play with together in the framework of the music. This will also help you in your general Tango skills. We will look at the obvious and the not so obvious rhythms and playfulness of Tango Vals, and see how we can use that. Suitable for all levels.
Come and join us for a fun and productive afternoon.
