Tony’s view on Carlos Gavito and how to follow

There are different approaches and philosophies included in the broad spectrum of Argentine Tango.

Tony favours the view of Carlos Gavito, who said categorically that

“the follower should not do anything unless the leader leads it”.

Carlos was an Argentinean milonguero who developed his skills at actual milongas, yet he was invited to tour the world with professionally trained dancers in globally successful Tango shows in the 1990s. He also taught for a while at Danny and Diana’s Tango club, ‘Carablanca’ at The London Welsh Centre.
